Wal-Mart ups entry-level manager salaries ahead of overtime rule

Ah, the big corporation and their culture of attention towards the employee.

Kindy-kind Wal-mart raises the salary of entry-level store managers from $45k to $48k per year.

Just a week before newly-enacted laws imposed employers to pay overtime work of employees earning $47k or less. Just a coincidence, for sure.

In the same year, Walmart made public its plans to increase expenditure on employees’ salaries and training, while also cutting some 7k jobs. Just a second coincidence, I am sure.
